At Flowgrid, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to provide and improve our Service. This policy explains what these technologies are, which ones we actually use, and why.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used by website owners to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
Necessary for the platform to function properly: user authentication, session management, and security. Cannot be disabled.
Analytics Cookies
Help us and our customers understand usage patterns, measure performance, and improve the service. On a site running our tracking script, these include a pseudonymous visitor identifier and a session identifier.
Marketing / Attribution Cookies
Used when a customer enables conversion tracking on their site, to remember referral sources, UTM parameters, and advertising click identifiers (e.g. gclid, fbclid) so conversions can be attributed to a campaign within that customer's own analytics.
3. Specific Cookies Our Script Sets
When our analytics script (flowgrid.js) runs on a customer's website, it may set the following:
- Visitor identifier — pseudonymous ID, retained up to 365 days
- Session identifier — tracks a single visit, expires after ~30 minutes of inactivity
- UTM / referral history — retained up to 7 days
- Advertising click identifiers (gclid, fbclid, ttclid, msclkid, twclid, dclid, li_fat_id) — only captured when the site owner enables conversion tracking
- Tracking opt-out cookie (
fg_tracking_consent) — set by the site owner or their own consent tooling to stop the script from tracking a given visitor
On our own marketing site and dashboard, we set session/authentication cookies needed to keep you signed in, and, where deployed, a first-party consent-preference cookie (__flowgrid_consent) reflecting the choices described in Section 5.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by the third-party providers we use to operate our business. These may include:
- Lemon Squeezy & Stripe: payment processing and fraud prevention
- Hosting & CDN providers: content delivery and performance optimization
We do not currently embed a third-party live-chat or support widget on our platform; if that changes, we will update this list before the change takes effect.
5. Cookie Duration & Your Choices
Session vs. Persistent
Some cookies (e.g. the session identifier) expire when you close your browser or after a short period of inactivity; others (e.g. the visitor identifier) persist for a fixed period, listed in Section 3.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically block or delete cookies, though this may affect functionality.
Opting Out of Our Tracking Script
If you run a website using our script, you (or your own consent-management tooling) can prevent tracking for a given visitor by setting the fg_tracking_consent=false cookie before our script loads. As the website owner, obtaining any consent required by law before our script runs on your visitors' devices is your responsibility— our script does not display its own consent prompt to your visitors.
6. Impact of Disabling Cookies
Please note: Disabling certain cookies may limit your ability to use some features of our platform. Essential cookies cannot be disabled, as they are necessary for the service to function.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including as we add or remove third-party providers or cookies. When we do, we'll notify you through our platform or via email if you're a registered user.
